Deacons Ministry Team
Mission:
The English word deacon comes from a Greek word meaning “servant.” Deacons help the ministerial
staff serve the physical and spiritual needs of the congregation.
Attributes Needed
An effective deacon should have the following attributes:
● Be a caring person who is sensitive to the needs of others.
● Have good communication skills.
● Observe appropriate boundaries and confidentiality in dealing with others.
● Have the heart of a servant.
● Be committed to the church’s ministry of meeting the needs of individuals in the congregation.
